In addition, we provide the same top-of-the-line amenities and treatments you would expect from a medical spa, ensuring that you not only feel great but also look your absolute best.

DR. MICHAEL CHEN D.O.
Physician and Medical Director

Dr. Chen founded Alta Pain Physicians in 2010 and currently employs several clinicians serving hundreds of patients across the Wasatch Front. Dr. Chen completed an undergraduate degree in molecular biology at Brigham Young University before attending medical school at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Chen completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University and a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Management. Dr. Chen has twenty years of experience with injectables including Botox for migraines and cosmetics. A hallmark of Dr. Chen’s practice is consistently positive patient feedback noting his exceptional care and attentiveness. He has brought that same level of empathy and education to the foundation of APEX Performance & Aesthetics.

Dr. Chen has researched the most innovative and effective aesthetics and wellness treatments, focusing on state-of-the-art equipment bundled with an array of cutting-edge services to create APEX Performance & Aesthetics. Dr. Chen is an avid sports fan and loves spending time with his wife and three children.

Brooke Peavley,
Director Of Operations

Brooke has focused her career on Sales & Leadership in the healthcare space. She most recently worked with medical clinics and labs. In addition to launching a profitable Laboratory division, she won dozens of Sales awards during her tenure. Brooke has also published a best-selling book called The Healthy Lush. After having two amazing children, she went back to college, earning an Associate’s Degree in Biotechnology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public & Consumer Health, from the University of Utah. She is a long-time expert and fan of the aesthetics and wellness industry. Brooke was the first Patient Ambassador for Cellfina, featured on “The Doctors”, and went on to speak at international conferences about the results. Her goal is to make others feel more confident and balanced through education and customized services that are tailored to fit their goals. Brooke loves the outdoors, watching football, playing golf or pickleball, boating, and traveling.

Her goal is to make others feel more confident and balanced through education and customized services that are tailored to fit their individual needs. Brooke loves the outdoors, watching football, playing golf or pickleball, boating, and traveling.

Sharon Maxwell, Nurse Practitioner

Sharon is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of working in the healthcare setting. She specializes in sexual health for family medicine, medical weight loss, and aesthetics. Sharon is well-known in the industry for delivering natural results with neuromodulators, biostimulators, dermal fillers, and PRP. She has a passion for educating patients, and other injectors, about the best products, techniques, and ways to achieve the best long-term results. Sharon has six children and seven grandchildren. In her little free time, she loves to mountain bike, garden, play the cello, and cook for her loved ones.

Nurse Practitioner

Tessa Curtis, Nurse Practitioner

Tessa is a compassionate Nurse Practitioner with a vast level of experience in Vascular Surgery and Injections. In addition to being our in-house Wellness Expert, Tessa’s vascular experience gives her a unique advantage when it comes to the art of injections and understanding the anatomy of the body and face. She continues to advance her knowledge in both areas, inside and outside of her commitment to APEX. Prior to joining our team, she worked in the ICU & Surgery at St Marks and Alta View Hospital. Tessa’s hobbies include watching and playing sports, hiking, boating, and four-wheeling.

Shannia DaSilva,
Master Esthetician

Shannia is our fabulous full-time Master Esthetician. After a successful career in Customer Service, she attended skincare and esthetic school at the Skin Science Institute of Laser & Aesthetics, graduating with Honors. She has spent the last year perfecting her craft of helping people shine naturally by extracting imperfections, removing unwanted hair, promoting relaxation, exfoliating and tightening the skin, and educating her clients on how to best treat, protect and care for their skin. Shannia spends her free time with friends and family or doing Hot Pilates.

Calaigh Clark,
Master Esthetician

Calaigh is a part-time Master Esthetician and Medical Assistant. Prior to moving back to Utah, she spent the last three years working and living in Louisiana with her husband and two adorable kids. With several years of experience focused on skincare and wellness, she is the expert in all things anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, and body contouring. When she is not busy taking care of our patients, she spends time with her cute family, gardening, or traveling.

Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Brielle is the Medical Assistant and licensed Phlebotomist at APEX. She attended school to certify as an Emergency Medical Technician and obtained her Utah Phlebotomy certificate. She is currently enrolled at the University of Utah, majoring in Nursing, with a goal to be a Nurse Anesthetist. She runs the APEX lab draws, IV therapy, and helps our Providers with various wellness procedures. Brielle loves to shop and travel to warm-weather destinations.

Aspyn Chaparro, Registered Nurse Injector

Aspyn is our RN certified in Aesthetic Injections from Medical Art Institute and Skin Elements Aesthetics. She has also trained with Yvonne Dellos and Regan Brooks. With 5+ years of healthcare experience at the University of Utah Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center, she has a wide range of nursing skills to bring to APEX Performance & Aesthetics. Aspyn is dedicated to making your aesthetic dreams a reality. She loves to dance and is competing in her first Bikini Bodybuilding competition this year.

Danzi Stewart,
Patient Care Coordinator

Danzi is the Patient Care Coordinator and Front Desk Manager at APEX. She grew up in Springville, Utah but spent the last several years working in the aesthetics industry at a local tanning salon and a medical spa. She ensures that everyone that walks into APEX feels welcome and valued. Danzi is a mother of four young kids and adores them dearly. She spends most of her free time with her cute kids, taking them shopping, going on walks, riding bikes, and swimming. While APEX and her kids keep her busy, she also cherishes her time alone, relaxing over brunch with her girlfriends.

Brenna Carlsen,
Receptionist / Promoter

Brenna is the part-time Receptionist for Apex Performance & Aesthetics. She has also earned the title of “APEX Promotor” since she knows just about everyone that walks through our doors and immediately uses her warmth and compassion to make them feel comfortable. Brenna is a long-time lover of all things fitness & dance, having been a Group Fitness Instructor at Treehouse Athletic Club for the last 15 years. She is a proud mom of 4 amazing children and loves to make us all laugh with her upbeat & fun personality.
